Stand Easy for Swift River (#0-23006)

At a painter's retreat in Tamworth this April I came across this spot on the Swift River. It was well over 80° but through the trees, down by the river it was cool and refreshing. This painting is done from a 16- x 20-inch plein air piece and four rather inadequate phone photos in the studio. I love the action of the water, up over and around the rocks of the river. The plein air I did was good but I really wanted to delve into the details and I hope I achieved the spirit of the place.
