A friend's photo of one of her spring lambs enjoying a patch of nettles was the inspiration for this small watercolor portrait. Set against a steep field cloaked in the brilliant chartreuse of early spring, with a high pressure sky; all is right with the world that this young creature inhabits. I wanted to convey the sheer pleasure of a novel treat for this new life form on a beautiful day.
