Almost Summer, Lambert Road

"Almost Summer, Lambert Road" was painted in the studio using a plein air piece for reference. This dead end dirt road, not far from where I live, is one of my favorite places to paint. It dips down into a hollow, so it is completely quiet there. No traffic noise, only the sound of birds and the wind. Using the plein air painting as a reference helped me remember not only the shapes and colors I had seen, but also how it felt to be there on that late spring day.
